Trying a few new things
I've had a bit of a break from mosaics (just a temporary break!) and have been busy trying my hand at handmade burnt edge flowers and embellishing tshirts, bags, gumboots, flip flops and anything else I can think of. I've finished a few items and have listed some of them on Etsy already.

One pair of my bling girls gumboots have sold already (first day listed) and the lady loved them which of course I'm so happy about. Nothing like a happy customer! :)

I love how my flowers have turned out. I had my doubts as to whether or not I could make them but I love making them AND it's the closest to sewing that I'l ever get lol.
Anyway, I'll sign off here and get back to it. Hopefully I won't leave it this long before posting again.

Etsy listings in progress
Well, 18 listings done and just another 1oo + to go!
I've listed a few different things on Etsy so far to give people as idea of the variety of goodies I've made.
Everything from clocks, wall art, furniture, jewellery, bookmarks have been listed so far.
It's sooooo time consuming, I'm sure lots of you out there know and appreciate that fact. The fact that I'm so impatient and want everything out there for everyone to see doesn't help lol. I get so frustrated but I'll keep plodding along. I'm trying not to expect too much of myself and am just aiming at 4 or 5 items per evening, if I keep that up, I WILL get there.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my listings and my creations on my website.
I'd love for you to sign my guestbook on my website (the link is on my homepage) to let me know what you think of my site and creations. I find it both rewarding and constructive, so please feel free to let me know if there's something else I should be doing or adding to my site.
Happy creating!

Changes to my website
YAY, I've finally managed to make the changes to my website that I've wanted to do for ages. It's been a long time coming but my new website is now uploaded with the main change being in the way purchases are made. I now have links on my website to Etsy.com where I'm in the process of listing all of the items for sale and all sales will go through that. I think my customers will find this way a lot easier and will give them a lot more peace of mind too.
Please note tho that listing all of my items is a time consuming process so it may take a little while to get them all up so please be patient and I'll get it all done as soon as possible.
Thank you :)

Shabby Chic Mosaic Treadle Sewing Machine Table and My Open Day
My new pride and joy is finally completed!
Wow, nothing like a deadline to get your butt into gear huh?!
This Sunday 18th October is "Kalamunda Open Studios" day in the gorgeous Perth Hills WA and I was hoping to be part of it. Unfortunately tho you have to have an "actual studio" and mine isn't classed as one so I've decided to have my very own "open porch day" like a garage sale but just have all my handmade jewellery, mosaics and other goodies for sale. You can even enjoy the stunning views over the national park and city too while you browse.
So with the day quickly approaching I've been flat out making a few more pieces of jewellery, keyrings and at last finishing my gorgeous treadle machine. It's been sitting almost finished in my dining room for, I can't even remember how long but yesterday I finally finished it.
I love it, I'm so happy with it! I so wish I could keep this but there is no room in my teeny tiny home unfortunately so here it is, up for grabs for some lucky buyer. I'm going to really be sorry to see this go :-(
I picked up the treadle table about a year ago and couldn't wait to get started on it. I used heaps of beautiful vintage china and lots of glass in pinks, blue, green and white.
It was missing one of the drawers so I removed the other one and have replaced them with "faux drawers" with a gorgeous glass heart knob on each.
The long centre front drawer still opens, I think it was used for needles etc and could be used to hide your keys etc.

The sides have been partly mosaiced but I left the decorative timber in between.
It is just to be used as a decorative "show off" piece so it no longer opens up, it's been created to be shown off in pride of place.
The base itself is beautiful too, quite an ornate base in great condition.
This truly is absolutely stunning and will be a beautiful addition to any home.
Measurements - 93cm long x 46cm wide x 78cm high
$1200 AUD

For sale - Shabby Chic Mosaic Birdhouse

This is one of the most gorgeous birdhouses that has been made with love and care. (the other most gorgeous one is also listed hehe)
I had the birdhouses handmade for me by a very clever man that I met on Ebay and then I set to beautifying them.
I have used lots of lovely china and glass to adorn this very unique bird 'home', it's way too beautiful to be called just a house.
I topped it off with lovely porcelain china roses that have been upcycled from other ornaments and the little bird was made by CMKsculptures in the US.
I added some pretty pink acrylic bead fringing along the side edges and sat the whole thing on a beautiful pedistal adorned with flowers, pearls and a cute little glass lady bird.
I also added a sweet butterfly to the front and another little butterfly on the roof.
Measurements -34.5cm high (top of bird), 20cm at widest point, 15cm deepest point.
Please note that the 1st photo, the one with 4 images was taken before I added the pearls on the base and the butterfly on the front. The other photos show it completed.
If you would like more photos, please email me and I'l be more than happy to send your more photos.
Due to its size this cannot be posted plus the fact that I would be devastated if anything were to happen to it.
Pick up is from Gooseberry Hill WA.
Delivery may be arranged to some metro areas for a fee.
Come on a grab yourself a stunning piece for your home.
I have lots of other beautiful shabby chic mosaics and also mosaic and cameo jewellery for sale too.
$150 AUD

I'm obsessed with scrapbooking and need to refocus!
It was just to get us all out of the house and do something socially but at the same time being productive. I thought it was a great idea as I could set those nights aside for scrapbooking and I would still have plenty of evenings left for mosaicing. BOY, was I wrong, that scrapbooking monster totally took me over and I've hardly mosaiced at all. If I wasn't scrapbooking I was either on the internet shopping for scrapbooking goodies or I was on Harvey Norman photo site getting my photos ordered ready for scrapbooking.
I have lots of beautiful creations to offer as well as a few new items including a couple of new mosaics, paintings and jewellery.

The gorgeous Michelle of Ibreak4glasssent me this award, thanks so much Michelle, you're a sweety!
I now have to list 5 things that I love, you will see that I am a woman of simple pleasures and it really doesn't take much to make me happy.
- I love my little boy, he is the love of my life along with his Daddy, my wonderful hubby.
- I love mosaicing, mind you that's been put on the backburner for a little while because of my new love listed next (if only I had an extra 10hrs a day!).
- I love scrapbooking both on my own in the evenings and also with my scrapbooking friends from playgroup.
- I love time to myself, I think I would go mad if I didn't get at least an hour (preferably 3 or 4 hrs but hey, I'll take what I can get) to myself each day.
- I love going on camping holidays and day trips with my wonderful family
Now to share this wonderful award with 10 other Bloggers that I enjoy checking in on

Mixed media art on canvas, my new passion!
Have I been having fun with these canvases this week or what?! I've always wished I could paint, I envy all of those brilliant artists out there who can. But, I've found a way, it's kind of cheating but it's a lot of fun for the frustrated painter such as myself.
I went and bought myself some of these ready stretched canvases, got myself some acrylic paint, some lovely paper prints, buttons, cameos and the such and got started.
These are the first of my creations and I have plenty more up my sleeve that I will be working on over the next few weeks. The only thing is, I have 2 more violins that I have to mosaic, my treadle to finish, my mother in laws mirrored torso manequinn and more jewellery to make. Do you think I may be taking on a little too much?! All this plus a VERY active little 3 yr old?! Oh well, I guess it keeps me off the streets huh!
I've always been a crafty, creative person but lately I just can't stop myself. It seems the more I do the more I want to keep doing. It's like an addiction, it's all I talk about, it's all I do in my spare time. When I say 'spare' time, I mean time I should be house cleaning or sleeping etc lol, I think I'm turning into a bit of an insomniac too.
It's getting a little tricky tho as my son has decided that he's just about had enough with his afternoon nap eeeekkkkkk!!! I can get him to have a sleep on some days but mostly he'd rather play and get into my "pretty" things. He's so funny, he loves checking out all of my bling and beads etc that I have for my art and says "ooooh thaaaat's preeetttyyyy!". I think I have a little 'arteest' in the making.
Anyway, here's some photos of my latest creations, I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I've had in making them.
They all measure 30cm x 30cm (12" x 12")
(((hugs)))

More of my sister Lindas patchwork pretties
Well I may not have been making much lately apart from my mosaic jewellery but my sis sure has been busy.
These are her latest creations, the quilt and cushion covers are works in progress.
She's used lovely shades of pinks and greens for these, our favourite colours of course, in lovely roses, florals and checks.
The quilt is pussy cats and hearts, all of the applique has been lovingly hand stitched. She is going to add a contrasting green edging before putting the the wadding and backing on. It's a nice size lap rug, she's made it a bit bigger than it's supposed to be for a bit more cuddly comfort.
The cushion covers are lovely too, she's actually made four of them, 2 of the pinks and 2 of the greens. These are hand appliqued with pretty, delicate hand stitched embroidery flower garlands around the hearts.

These pictures are so sweet.
Both of them have similar hand stitched embroidery garlands in the shape of a heart on calico. They match the cushion covers very nicely and would be a lovely addition to any country cottage home.
If you're interested in purchasing any of these please email me, they will soon be for sale on my website 'shabbygirlmosaics'

My favourite mosaic tile maker in the universe is...
Carol Kent of CMKSculptures!!! She makes THE most STUNNING tiles, birds, cherubs, 3D roses, sculptures and mosaics.
I've bought a lot of stuff from her in the past and I have never been disapointed. I'm always so full of excitement when I know some goodies are on there way from Carol which is the state I'm in now as I've just put in another huge order (hope my hubby doesn't see the statement - gulp!)
I met her through Ebay when I bought my first lot from her back in March or April last year. Her service is always second to none, friendly, helpful, great communication and super fast delivery. I get most of my orders in just over a week, not bad for saying they travel over 15000 kms to get here from the US. She's also more than happy to try and oblige with custom orders, just let her know what it is you want and she'l do her very best to fulfill your wishes.

I love using her tiles and cherubs in my mosaics, I usually include something of Carols into my creations as they add a special little something to my pieces. All of Carols tiles have a bright and glossy finish to them and they are grout friendly so no worries there.
You can find her beautiful creations here at Ebay, Etsy and Artfire and you can also check out all of her beautiful mosaics and other goodies here on Flickr
I hope you can make some time to go and check out Carols beautiful creations, happy browsing!

Bling keyrings / bag dangles
Just a quick little post to add my newest items.
These are sweet little keyrings or bag dangles. You can even use them on your mobile phone I guess, anywhere where you'd like a little bit of extra bling.
$15 AUD each

Another new thing I'm making is kilt pin brooches, this is my first and I have a few more lined up to make. These were a little trickier to make (my little fat fingers kept getting in the way lol)These are sweet little keyrings or bag dangles. $15 AUD each
but a lot of fun.
Very blingy with pretty clear stones and the rose lampwork are so pretty.

Linda's Pretties
My sister Linda has made some lovely quilts, clothe dolls and pomanders which I've just listed on my website shabbygirlmosaicsThey are listed on the "Linda's Pretties" page.
As for me, I'm still to get any more of my treadle done as I've been busy updating my website and trying to get some things done around the house. I'll update with more photos of it when I manage to get some more done.
I also have a commision so that will slow me up a bit too. I have another one of the cast iron mirrors on a stand that a lady has asked me to do in greens so I'll have to get started on that in the next few days too.
I'm looking forward to it too but I have to go shopping for some green china, it's a colour that I love but don't have much luck in finding.
Wish me luck in my search!

Mosaic treadle sewing machine is almost finished
I started this a few months ago and have spent hours and hours on it but then I got side tracked with other things for the markets and haven't done anymore work on it for a while now. My challenge is to get it finished now that this months market is out the way. I intend to get it totally finished and listed on my website in the next week or two (that's my plan anyway lol)
All the hard work is done, I only have to do the edging and background (and grout of course - yuk!) so if I can just pull my finger out and get into it it will get done.
I will post here once it's listed on my website.
